    The focus on “automation bias” as a reason to slow down is a bit of a distraction. The real danger isn’t just doctors trusting a wrong suggestion; it’s the fact that we still expect doctors to act like human databases in a broken system.

    Instead of worrying about AI replacing reasoning, we should be using it to take over all the administrative busywork. If AI handles the documentation and data gathering, hospitalists can finally get back to the bedside. That is where the actual work of being a doctor happens. Let the machines handle the data so the humans can handle the patients.
