Dr. Johnson

Lara Johnson, MD, MHS, has been named chief medical officer for the Covenant Health Lubbock Service Area in Lubbock, Texas. She will work with other Covenant Health leaders and medical staff to help ensure the highest quality of care for patients and their families. The service area includes Covenant Medical Center, Covenant Children’s, Covenant Specialty Hospital, and Covenant Health Grace Surgical Hospital.

Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), in Lubbock. She started the pediatric hospitalist program at TTUHSC. She completed the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Yale College of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. Dr. Johnson has served as a faculty member in the department of pediatrics at TTUHSC with leadership roles in medical education and clinical care. She continues her role as pediatric hospital medicine fellowship director at TTUHSC and as a clinical professor taking shifts as a hospitalist.

Dr. Hadid

Jabr Hadid, MD, FACP, MBA, CPL, has been named chief medical officer of HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. Dr. Hadid came to HCA Florida Northside from HealthFirst, where he served as a physician advisor in Melbourne, Florida.  Before HealthFirst, he was the lead hospitalist at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, in private practice, and a hospitalist program medical director at Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio.

Dr. Hadid earned his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in the Cayman Islands and completed his internal medicine residency at Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine, in Canton, Ohio.

Dr. Hoody

Daniel Hoody, MD, MSc, has been named regional vice president, clinic, and medical officer for Sanford Health in Bemidji, Minn. In this role, Dr. Hoody will be responsible for strategic operations of all clinics; the development and coordination of clinical pathways, practice patterns, protocols, and leadership development; and the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based health care. He will also be treating patients as a hospitalist.

Most recently Dr. Hoody was the chief medical officer for Hennepin Healthcare, overseeing clinical operations, organizational quality and safety, provider practice services, and medical education for 11 inpatient and outpatient medical facilities in the Twin Cities area.

Dr. Hoody earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis where he participated in the Rural Physician Apprenticeship Program in Granite Falls, Minn. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado, in Aurora, Colo.

Dr. Engelhardt

Amy Engelhardt, DO, MBA, FACOI, FHM, has been named as chief medical officer (CMO) of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Engelhardt most recently served as the hospital’s associate chief medical officer.

As CMO, she will provide clinical leadership, drive innovation and growth, enhance patient safety and quality standards, and optimize care delivery. Dr. Engelhardt will be an integral part of the hospital’s leadership team, and oversee physician services, contribute to strategic direction, and promote collaboration across operational areas. She will also focus on offering expertise in medical staff functions encompassing physician credentialing, privileging, peer review, medical staff by-laws, and medical staff recruitment.

She was recently reappointed to serve on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service Certificate of Need Commission for a second, three-year term.

Dr. Engelhardt earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of Des Moines University. She completed a dually accredited internship through Henry Ford Hospital before completing her internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan.
