The Literature Lounge is an online-only version of In the Literature column, with a little something extra—videos!
Hospitalist groups that sign up to contribute to the Literature Lounge (at least one of whom needs to be an SHM member) will follow the In the Literature Guidelines for writing their reviews, and include a brief video recording themselves answering these questions about the literature they chose:
- Why did you choose this piece of literature to review?
- How will you or have you applied this article to your practice?
Video Guidelines
- Sit as close as possible to your Wi-Fi router for the most stable/strongest signal.
- Be in a well-lit area/avoid overhead lighting or light source immediately behind you to avoid haloing or being backlit.
- If you have external webcam/mic/speakers/headphones, ensure all peripherals are connected/turned on, and give permission to your browser.
- Make sure you are in front of a clear background/or have your own virtual background or blurring (preferred).
- Please turn off/silence all notifications (Outlook, Teams, Phones) prior to recording.
- Record your video vertically.
- Record your video on YouTube or Vimeo and include the video link with your written literature review.
- Your video should be 2 to 5 minutes long.
The sample video is based on a previously published In the Literature as an example.
